This is a French Douzain aux Croissants struck under King Charles IX (1560-1574). The obverse displays the crowned royal shield of France with three fleurs-de-lis and the legend 'CAROLVS REX' (Charles King), while the reverse shows a decorative cross formed by four crescents with a 'G' mint mark (likely Poitiers) and the date 1565, with the legend 'SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM' (Blessed be the name of the Lord).
