This is a French Third Republic 1 Franc coin featuring the Ceres head design by engraver Louis-Oscar Roty (signed 'L. OLIV...' visible at the base of the neck). The obverse shows the allegorical figure of Ceres wearing a laurel wreath with a star above, surrounded by 'REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE'. The reverse displays '1 FRANC' and the date 1888 within an oak and olive wreath, with the motto 'LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ' and mint mark 'A' (Paris Mint) at the bottom.
